Here are some of my personal favourite images from various weddings I photographed over the last wedding season.
My criteria wasn't based on being 'spectacular', but these pictures all really appeal to me in some way and represent something of what I try to achieve and incorporate into a good wedding photograph... great story telling, strong composition, attention to great colour or b&w tonality, great use of natural/existing light, etc.
I didn't really consider this aspect specifically when I was picking these images, but all except 2 of these photographs are completely unposed... which really reflects my focus on working with a journalistic approach, intervening as little as possible in the events of a wedding.
Narrowing the set down to these was not easy... my initial 'short list' ended up being about 120 photos but I managed to shrink it down to these 25. And I'm sure that if I did the same exercise tomorrow, the set may well have been different again! :)
Thanks again to ALL the great couples I had the privilege to work with over the last wedding season. Looking forward to kicking things off again real soon... in just a couple of weeks in fact! :)
